Attractions
There are many types of attractions and sites to be seen along the way of your travels such as: roadside attractions, museums, national parks, cities and geological structures. Anything you do aside from riding, eating, and sleeping will be a balance of time, money, and and overall enjoyment. A well rounded trip proabably will take advantage of all of these types of attactions. Here are some notes on the different types:
Roadside attractions will often be somewhat low on overall enjoyment, but are usually quick to visit, fairly inexpensive, and often weird and unique enough to make seeing them worthwhile.
Museums can be a great way to take a nice long break from the wind and outdoors. They'll usually cost quite a bit, and require a few hours (at least) of a time commitment, but will give a more memorable experience than many other attractions.
City districts (such as the French Quarter in New Orleans, the Las Vegas strip, or the Riverfront in Savannah) can provide some entertainment while letting you experience something that you probably can't do or see at home. Since they can usually be combined with where you're sleeping that evening, they don't necessarily have their own time requirement, as you can wander around a city or a park early in the morning or late at night, when you probably won't be riding anyway, or enjoy a meal there.
